Quarterback Uriah Tenette rushed for two touchdowns and passed for one more as the Prescott Badgers dominated the final two quarters to beat the Flagstaff Eagles 30-3 at the Northern Arizona Skydome.
On top of that, Tenette had two other touchdown runs called back on penalties. The senior ended with 120 yards on the ground that could have been a lot more as the Eagles spent a lot of energy trying to chase Tenette down.

Flagstaff had some success on their opening drive moving down to the Badgers 31 before the defense put together two negative plays with a tackle for loss of five by Gunnar Parra. Blake Mcglory sacked Brown for another loss.
Prescott took the lead when Tenette took a busted play and circled around the fifteen yard line before taking off for the end zone, on officially a seven yard run. Johann Gundermann kicked the extra point and with 3:43 left in the first quarter, the Badgers led 7-0.
Flagstaff quarterback Chase Brown was pressured and threw the ball down field where Tenette came up with his fifth interception of the season at Eagles 47. After a holding penalty, Adam Lloyd got some great blocks by Carter Cashatt and Beau Brice, while running the ball 32 yards down to the Flagstaff 30. A pair of penalties helped stalled the drive, forcing a punt. Johann Gundermann’s punt was placed at the one yard line when Cooper Kasun kept the ball from going into the end zone.
The Eagles best drive of the game came when they moved the ball 82 yards to the Prescott 17, where they stalled. Ryder Meyers kicked a 36 yard field goal with 6:36 in the second quarter to trim the Badger lead to 7-3.
The Badgers had a golden opportunity to add to their lead after getting the ball down to the two yard line. The run off the left side with seven seconds left came up a yard short. The Eagles celebrated and both teams headed to the locker room.

Prescott came out with more focus and intensity as the offense took the second half kickoff and performed a penalty free drive to go on top 14-3 when Tenette split the defense running down the middle of the field while being escorted by his supporting cast of blockers to score from 37 yards out.
The Badger defense took over, continuing to punish Flagstaff offense and quarterback Chase Brown with intense pressure forcing a three and out. Prescott took over at the Eagles 34 after a 15 yard punt, and took just two plays to extend the lead to 21-3. Tenette hit Gundermann in the corner of the end zone catching the ball in stride for the touchdown.

Prescott held Flagstaff to a second consecutive three and out, taking the over the ball at their own 41 yard line. Tenette ran down the far sideline for what appeared to be another touchdown but a holding penalty negated the 57 yard run.
Meanwhile the defense recorded two more sacks by Gunnar Parra and Frankie Jaume, finishing off the night for the Flagstaff starting quarterback.
Prescott would score eventually when Adam Lloyd scored his sixth rushing touchdown of the season from seven yards out to make it 28-3. The final nail in the proverbial coffin came when Brody Hanna sacked backup quarterback AJ Valdez in the end zone for the safety to make it 30-3 with just under six minutes to play.
The Badgers received the ball on the free kick and Josiah Peoples thought he had a 60 yard touchdown, but yet another penalty negated the fine run. A few plays later, Tenette had a second touchdown run brought back because of another penalty, but Prescott was able to nearly run the clock out. Flagstaff had to come out and take a knee to finish off the final sixteen seconds for Prescott’s sixth win in seven games. All in all the Badgers were assessed 17 penalties, while Flagstaff had 7.
Tenette said, “We came out real slow and had a lot of setbacks with the flags. We knew were better than that and had to come out with a different intensity of rth second half. We were able to go out and play to our ability and finished off the game to get the win.”
Running back Adam Lloyd, had his third 100 plus yard game of the season, said, “We came out and did not play very well. We went into the locker room at halftime and our seniors came in and took control to get everybody pumped up for the second half. We gave it our best 100%. Our defense stayed in assignment tonight and really kept them in check.”
Gundermann, pulled in seven catches for 103 yards and a TD, said, “I was really hot and upset about our play in the first half. At halftime we got fired up. We came out and put together that first drive. That put us up by two scores and we built on it from there. The offensive line came up big for us providing the holes, and for Uriah to get some extra time to throw the ball. The defense did a great job handling them all night.” Josiah Peoples had three catches for 56 yards and had his punt return for a touchdown nullified by a penalty.
The stats showed how dominate the Badgers were, overcoming all the penalties, with 481 yards of total offense. Uriah Tenette was 15-19-0 228 yards and a touchdown. On the ground, Tenette rushed for 120 yards on 11 carries with two touchdowns. Adam Lloyd scored a touchdown with 101 yards on 14 carries.
The defense kept the Eagles out of the end zone and had 11 tackles for loss. Brody Hanna led with eight tackles including the safety. Isaac Briseno and Cooper Kasun each had seven. Adam Lloyd with six, and Frankie Jaume and Gunnar Parra each had five. Rutger Funk had a fumble recovery.
Jadon Wetzel had 115 yards on 17 carries for the Eagles. Chase Brown ended up with 9 completions in 24 attempts for 91 yards and an interception before coming out of the game injured early in the fourth quarter. The Badgers defense gave up only one play of over 20 yards, a 24 yard completion to Chase Carlson. Tuffy Callander led the Flagstaff defense with 13 tackles.
Next up, the Badgers (2-0), (6-1), will play their highly anticipated rivalry battle with Bradshaw Mountain (2-0), (5-2). The stakes are huge because the winner will have the inside track to winning the Grand Canyon Region, including higher seeded playoff spot. Kickoff is set for 7 pm Thursday in Prescott Valley. Flagstaff will play Lee Williams in Kingman on Friday at 7 pm.
