Letter To The Editor Form

Letters Policy

Letters should focus on local topics. Each writer may submit only one letter every 30 days. Include your full name, street address, and phone number for verification—unsigned letters will not be published.

Submit via this form. Letters may be edited for clarity, length, grammar, legal issues, or taste.

We receive many submissions, so not all can be published. Selected letters represent a range of viewpoints. Writers are responsible for accuracy and encouraged to include sources.

IP addresses are tracked for threatening or offensive content and may be shared with authorities if necessary.

Thank you for keeping submissions respectful and thoughtful.

200 words or less

WHAT IS THE LETTER TO THE EDITOR?

Letters are brief (250 words max) comments on local issues or published articles. Other correspondence—like tips or complaints—should not be submitted as letters. Not all letters can be published; selected letters reflect a range of viewpoints. Writers must include their full name, city, and phone number. Letters may be edited for clarity, style, or length, and authors may be contacted to verify submission.

10 Tips to Boost Your Letter’s Chance of Being Published

Focus on local issues. Letters about your community are prioritized over national topics.

Keep it short. Aim for under 250 words—concise letters are easier to publish.

Stick to one main idea. A clear, focused point makes your letter stronger.

Include your details. Always give your full name, city, and phone number—no fake names.

Act quickly. Respond to recent articles or current events while they’re relevant.

Back it up. Facts or sources outside the letter can support your argument.

Avoid problem content. No open letters, third-party submissions, poetry, or personal attacks.

Make it engaging. Polite, clever, or thoughtful letters catch attention.

Limit submissions. Only one letter per writer per 30 days.

Be mindful. Letters that are offensive, repetitive, inaccurate, or aggressive won’t be published; civility and insight increase your chances.
