Badgers Blow Past Tempe 56-10 : Zoe Libis lights up scoreboard with 27

Zoe Libis started off slowly, but caught fire in the second quarter, scoring 10 points each in the next two quarters, to help the Lady Badgers blow past the Tempe Buffaloes 56-10 in the Badger Dome. Libis said, “It was insane. My shot hasn’t been falling for me, but tonight it did. We have a lot of good teams on the schedule and we hope we can keep getting better.”

Prescott opened up an 11-0 lead after the first quarter, on baskets by Bella Abt, Zoe Libis, Rylee King, and a big three by Rayne Libis. Bella Abt controlled the inside with 10 rebounds to go along with her 11 points said, “This is my first year playing down low because I have always run point. I am still getting use to it, but think I am getting better a little each game.”

Tempe scored a minute into the second quarter, but Prescott once again dominated the quarter, building a 29-6 halftime lead. An even bigger third quarter, behind Zoe Libis and Abt, pushed the game to a running clock and a 49-8 lead. The margin of victory by the Lady Badgers was the most since Prescott beat Apache Junction 68-12 on November 27, 2015.

Rayne Libis, who knocked down a pair of three pointers, said, “This was a good game for us to get going again after some rough road games. We have some good teams coming in for our tournament and we are looking forward to playing in that.”

The Lady Badgers (3-6), will get a little time off for Christmas, but be back at it for the Lady Badgers Winter Classic, held on December 29-30, at Prescott High School. Sixteen teams will participate, including Bradshaw Mountain. Opening round schedule is listed below.
