It came down to an extra game to see which Lincoln would prevail as tournament champion in the Steel Shoe Classic at Watson Lake in Prescott.

The Class A championship went to Trisha Lincoln, who bested her hubby John for the Tournament Title. The friendly competition came about after John had beaten Trisha 48-44 earlier in the day, but John fell victim to Mike Brewer 59-55, leaving each player with one loss. Trisha was able to best John 49-37. John claimed second place and Mike Brewer took third. Trisha topped all pitchers with 165 ringers, while John had the highest score of the day with 67.

Class B saw Joe Starika continue his winning streak. Starika has now won four in a row, by going  3-1 on the day, with his only loss coming in his final game to John Barney. Cody Williams and Barney tied earlier, but Williams squeaked out second, with Barney settling for third.

The weather was mild for the day with clouds disrupting the sunlight, but none of it affecting the players. The Mile Hi Horseshoe Club will be hosting the second half of a two day of tournament at Watson Lake on Sunday, September 25, at 9 am. Prescott Valley will host day one on Saturday, September 24. It will also be the final tournament in Prescott this year.
