When Does One Stop Believing a Liar? – Buz Blog

Stupid is knowing the truth, seeing the truth but still believing the lies.” – Morgan Freeman

In the classic Aesop fable, “The Boy Who Cried Wolf”, the villagers responded to the shepherd boy when he falsely cried, “wolf”. After doing this three or four times when there was no wolf, the villagers stopped believing the shepherd boy. When a wolf actually was present near his sheep, no one responded when the boy called “wolf.”

Many, if not most of our fellow Americans, exhibit a naive gullibility in the face of lies. How many of our citizens, after years of indoctrination by the propaganda media and the Democrat party, are still under the mistaken belief that Republicans were the party of slavery, Jim Crow laws, segregation, lynching and were against civil rights? All of those evils were authored and enforced by Democrats.

Fortunately, we shed our gullibility after being lied to time and time again. Being a generous people, we may overlook a lie or two, but after so many, we stop believing the liar. From voting patterns and polls, it appears that Democrat voters believe the lies much longer than the general population. The last Presidential election seems to show that even some Democrats have realized who has been lying to them.

Now our population is faced with a dilemma. Our natural inclination toward compassion is confronted with our skepticism after being lied to so often. Last weekend, Joe Biden’s family announced that Joe had an aggressive form of prostate cancer that had metastasized to his bones. Immediately after the announcement, the responses were all compassionate: condolences and prayers for Joe and his family. After a day or so, the skepticism began to appear. There are many reasons for this doubt.

The timing of the prostate cancer announcement seems to come at a time when the Bidens would like to draw attention away from the bad week Joe Biden had just been through. Books were exposing how much Biden was in cognitive decline. His fellow Democrats were trying to shut him up. His appearance on “The View” didn’t change anyone’s idea about his worsening mental capabilities.

In conjunction with the timing, the accumulation of lies told by Joe Biden over the years, makes anyone capable of logical reasoning, wonder if the cancer announcement isn’t just another one of Joe’s lies. Since the beginning of his national political career, Biden has been a liar. He lied about having two scholarships. He lied when he said he graduated with three degrees from college. He lied when he said he graduated at the top of his law school class when he was close to the bottom.

When he wasn’t lying outright, he was plagiarizing the speeches of other politicians, including British politician Neil Kinnock, Robert F. Kennedy and John Kennedy. The lies he told as President were real whoppers. Whether it was claiming that he never talked to Hunter about his business dealings or spoke with any of Hunter’s business partners, photographs and recorded conversations contradict his lies. When he stated that anyone but himself and fellow Democrats were threatening democracy, the rule of law and the Constitution, his nose should have been growing and his pants burst into flames.

After all of Joe Biden’s lies, why should we believe this announcement that he has prostate cancer now? There is a statement from a respected oncologist and a former Biden advisor, Rahm Emanuel’s brother, Dr. Ezekiel Emanuel. Dr. Emanuel said that the cancer could have been in Biden’s prostate for as long as a decade. The idea that the Biden family just found out about the cancer and announced it when they most needed the public to be distracted from the attacks by both Democrats and Republicans, stretches beyond the point of belief. Their hope is that all criticism of the Bidens will stop and be replaced with compassion for old Joe.

It would be poetic justice if Joe Biden was shown all the compassion he displayed when orchestrating all of the novel criminal prosecutions and law suits against Trump, Roger Stone, Steve Bannon, Paul Manafort and the other Trump loyalists.

  1. This article astutely highlights how repeated dishonesty erodes public trust over time. It’s a compelling reminder of the importance of integrity in leadership.
