Desperate Democrats – Buz Blog

The more desperate you are, the more mistakes you make.” – Canelo Alvarez

One can only wonder, in disbelieving awe, how the Democrats can keep repeating the mistakes they continue to make. After the big loss last year in the presidential election, it is understandable that their party would be in disarray. When they carry on promoting the views that caused their historic loss, the most logical conclusion is that their problem is beyond a post election disorganization slump. It looks to the outsiders like the Democrats are in the throes of desperation.

So what is the cause of the Democrats’ despair? The election loss can only explain so much of it. Part of the cause of their despondency is caused by what in the past has been a strength. At least since Harry Reid was the Democrat majority leader in the Senate and Nancy Pelosi became the Speaker of the House, the Democrats almost always speak with one voice. Remember almost every single Democrat and their propaganda press saying things like “Russia, Russia, Russia:” “The walls are closing in on Trump,” “Trump is a Russian puppet,” and many other things that were all in the exact same words. They didn’t even change the wording. It was as if they were too lazy to look up synonyms in a thesaurus. The Democrat party, (please don’t call them the “Democratic party” because that is the antithesis of what they represent), had become the politburo and the press was their mimicking Pravda. That worked well when their party was just a little left of center on the political spectrum.

With their latest leaders appearing old, weak and decrepit, the young Turks, like AOC, the squad, and the lone old timer, Bernie Sanders, seem to be the only Democrats who can muster a crowd and attract donors. Now the Democrats have a major dilemma. They still want to speak with one voice, but that means they have to support candidates who are antisemitic, anti-police, pro Hamas, anti-capitalists, pro communist, pro radical LBGTQ+ like the current candidate for mayor of New York City, Zohran Mamdani.

Their major failure was not to examine the last election and what the voters were really voting for and against. But they can’t do that without alienating a large portion of their base. The Dems only option is the fear card that they always play. One has to understand their verbal gymnastics. When Democrats say that Trump and the MAGA majority pose an “existential threat” to democracy, they aren’t referring to our Democratic Republic, they mean the threat is to the very existence of the Democrat Party.

Another reason for the desperation of the party of the left is that they lack a bench that could produce leaders that would appeal to a majority of all voters, instead of just the Dems far left base. The Dems have lost the middle class. They are losing Hispanic voters. Blacks are moving away from the Democrats. If illegal aliens are deported, or they won’t be allowed to be counted in the census, the Democrats will lose a lot of seats in the house that they will never recover. That is why they are responding so frantically to the Texas reapportionment attempt. First, they think the Texas Republicans will be successful. Second, even if California and Illinois Democrats try to reapportion their voting districts, (even if it was legal to do so), those states are already so gerrymandered that any successful reapportionment would only have a minimal effect.

Lastly, the Democrats have a very weak bench from which to draw their next Presidential candidate. Kamala says she’s not running. They know that any far leftist, socialist/communist they run will be soundly defeated. It seems unlikely that any center/liberal could get the nomination. The Democrat fears are justified. Unless they can manufacture another catastrophic event like COVID 19, their chances of winning any additional seats in Congress are almost nonexistent and no presidential prospect is rising above the flotsam.

  1. Yea, Buz, correct on all counts. Also, add in a total support of illegal voting, and electing anti police via illegal elections in most large Democrat run cities.
The time is ripe for an active campaign of Republicans to enter these dis-served communities and remind and recruit new Trump Republicans. Or, would Republicans rather fight among themselves?

    1. Sometimes, Tom, I think Republicans would rather fight among themselves. It’s happing right here in Prescott/Yavapai County.
