At the founding of our country, the brave men who wrote and signed the Declaration of Independence and later wrote, debated and convinced their individual states to ratify the Constitution, had one thing in common: a belief that liberty and morality went hand in hand.
John Adams said, “Our constitution was made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate to the government of any other.”
Benjamin Franklin echoed that idea when he wrote, “Only a virtuous people are capable of freedom. As nations become corrupt and vicious, they have more need of masters.”
Similarly, George Washington said. “Human rights can only be assured among a virtuous people.”
Thomas Jefferson warned, “Lose morality, and eventually you will lose liberty.” Or when he stated, “All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent.”
We just went through four years of the most corrupt, immoral government our country has ever witnessed. The Biden family cabal was selling influence to many countries, many of them our financial competitors and/or our political foes. The Democrats, through the Biden Administration, have used the Justice Department to go after their political opponents, (Donald Trump and his allies), and their ideological opposition, (Right to Lifers, traditional Catholics, anti-DEI advocates and those opposed to the Biden/Democrat agenda). They used major political pressure and influence to suppress news items they didn’t want the public to know about.
The Democrat policies seemed to be aimed at destroying the nuclear family by denying parents the right to know if a child expresses a desire to sexually transition to the sex opposite of his or her birth gender. In fact, they want to prohibit parents from having any input at all on their children’s public education. The left Democrats even push sexually explicit LBTQ+ comic and story books for children, some as young as preschool age.
For decades, members of both parties in Congress have become millionaires by using their “insider” information and often adjusting legislation for their own financial gain. Congress has been negligent in overseeing the vast bureaucracy that they and the executive branch of government have created. Elon Musk and the DOGE group are, hopefully, going to look into that. Most of our people think that DOGE will uncover massive amounts of waste and fraud in our Federal government.
Most of our fifty states and local governments are no doubt suffering from this same malady of waste and fraud. We, as citizens, need to insist that our elected officials investigate, correct and put into place plans of action to prevent future waste and fraud. We also need to replace all of the bankrupt DEI and revisionist woke teaching in our public schools with emphasis on morality instruction based on Judaeo-Christian ethics and the Ten Commandments. Only then can we hope to retain our liberty as a moral and virtuous people.
