Stopping Mob Violence and Thefts – Buz Blog

There is no grievance that is a fit object of redress by mob law.” – Abraham Lincoln

More than any other time in our history, the last three years have been inundated with violence and theft by mobs. Whether it was the Antifa and BLM riots throughout the country, or the flash mob thefts from retail stores, these organized gangs of hoodlums have become violently aggressive because of mob mentality. When a gathering of like minded dolts gets together, they intensify their psychosis and gain a kind of group courage. Except, in reality, real courage is an individual trait. These goons would not have the nerve to commit their crimes as individuals. They need the mob to work up the boldness to commit their evil.

We need to learn the lessons from these past orchestrated riots and mob thefts. The COVID 19 panic provided these criminal instigators with a perfect storm. Even though mass gatherings were not allowed at the time, the elite power structure gave the George Floyd protesters dispensation. A review of the videos at that time, shows that the violence and arson was committed by criminals who were wearing medical masks and hoodies. Ever since then, the mass burglaries/robberies/smash and grabs have been committed by thieves, the vast majority of them wearing masks and hoodies. Masks and hoodies hide the identity of those committing crimes.

To combat these disguises, our elected officials need to enact laws that add criminal enhancements for those who commit crimes while wearing any masks, especially while also wearing a hoodie. A minimum, mandatory two year enhancement for wearing these disguises while committing any crime should be enacted. If the crime is violent or involves the use of a weapon, the enhancement should be a minimum mandatory three years. If any injury or death ocurres during a crime committed while wearing a disguise, the enhancement should be a minimum mandatory enhancement of five years.

While the right to peacefully protest is guaranteed by the First Amendment, there is no right to destroy property, injure police officers or inhibit normal commerce or traffic. The current Palestine/Gaza protests have included all of the above crimes. The videos show most of these so-called protesters are wearing masks and/or hoodies. The proposed enhancements should also apply to the crimes listed. There are already laws against blocking traffic. If someone dies or is injured as a result of blocking traffic, the maximum enhancement should apply.

Of course, the above measures would have little, if any effect, if law enforcement chiefs and sheriffs refuse to allow their officers to make arrests, or if elected district/county attorneys fail to prosecute. That is why we, as concerned citizens, need to ask our legislative candidates if they would enact such laws. That is why we need to ask candidates for District or County Attorney offices if they would prosecute those crimes. Then we need to follow up to ensure they are doing what we, the citizens, their bosses, have demanded.

Mob violence has been a problem since the start of recorded history and we need to combat it every time it raises it’s ugly head. As ancient Greek philosopher, Diogenes said, “The mob is the mother of tyrants.”

  1. Yes! Are the residents of larger cities really paying attention? Should the mayor and council be recalled or at least not reelected for allowing lawlessness?
Most police departments have cyber crime units. I would think the capture of a few cell phones from these mass store riots would show who is orchestrating these events and set traps for the next events. Of course if your city is corrupted by a leftist administration; you might as well relocate your family.
