YRMC Expands Breast Cancer Screenings With New, State-of-the-Art Mammography Unit

The Baskin Breast Care Center at Dignity Health Yavapai Regional Medical Center (YRMC) is expanding access to life-saving breast cancer screenings with a new mammography unit.

The newest machine brings the hospital’s total to four: two on the YRMC East Campus in Prescott Valley, one at Dignity Health’s Outpatient Imaging Center in Prescott, and now the latest addition on YRMC’s West Campus. The unit is a welcome addition for patients and the community.

“This will be a great help in our efforts to provide more screenings to more patients, reducing wait times for access to care,” says YRMC’s Baskin Breast Care Center Clinic Manager Kathi Hoffer. “This new equipment will allow us to screen up to an additional 350 patients per month.”

The new unit uses state-of-the-art 3-D technology, which produces more accurate imaging, reducing the number of screenings a patient may undergo, and ideally, leading to earlier detection.

“The YRMC Foundation, in partnership with the Baskin Breast Care Center, is proud to play a role in enhancing the breast cancer screening capabilities for our community,” says David Brennan, Chief Philanthropy Officer, YRMC Foundation. “We’d also like to extend a big thank you to our generous donors, whose contributions made this purchase possible.”

To schedule an appointment, the public can call YRMC’s Baskin Breast Care Center at 928-442-8900.
