Laurin Custis Named Yavapai County Elections Director by Board of Supervisors

At the regular Board of Supervisors meeting, on November 16, 2022, the Yavapai County Board of Supervisors unanimously voted to appoint Laurin Custis as the Yavapai County Elections Director effective November 27, 2022.

Laurin has been the Program Administrator for Voter Registration and Early Voting in Yavapai County since 2015.  Prior to Laurin’s time in Voter Registration, she was the Education Elections Coordinator and Administrative Assistant to the Yavapai County School Superintendent since 2012.

Yavapai County Board of Supervisors Chair, Mary Mallory said, “It is great to see Laurin Custis moving up within the County Government.  She has been a tremendous asset to the County for many years and I am sure she will serve her team and the people of Yavapai County with diligence and integrity. Congratulations Laurin.”

Laurin Stated, “I am really looking forward to working with the Board of Supervisors, Recorder Burchill, Yavapai County Political Parties, and our election partners to ensure Yavapai County’s tradition of clean and fair elections.”

  1. I hope all of this is true. However, I have heard of intimidation from some supervisors to “approve” this or that before board meetings. As for her background, I have also heard realistic comments about the County Board of Education Tim Carter and his appointments that cause me to question this persons ability to hold high integrity on our precious elections.
    We may never know what goes on behind closed doors of the supervisors but we should take the time to inquire. All five supervisors work for us. Make an appointment to meet with your supervisor and ask probing questions. It is your duty!
