After a week of strong winds, Saturday morning was a welcomed site. The wind moved on and with temperatures in the mid 60s to low 70s, the pitchers were able to focus on pitching the shoes.
Bruce Reid made the trip up from Congress to win his second tournament at Watson Lake this year. Reid won the MI Windows Open on May 2 and was solid throughout. His best game was his fight when he tossed 22 ringers to beat Hal Handelman. His only obstacle on the day was John Lincoln. JL started off slowly losing his first two. Handelman beat him 49-42 and Trisha Lincoln bested him 53-20. From that point forward John won his final four. Two of those games were against Bruce Reid. The battle in both were quietly intense as neither player led by more than 5 at any given time. John won both by 3 points, the first 42-39 and the finale 43-40. After 240 shoes on the day the players let the tiebreaker decide which was the ringer percentage. Reid was a little over 4% points better on the day and was awarded the championship. Hal Handelman finished third. Trisha Lincoln returned and showed signs of what she is capable of by tossing a 72% ringer percentage game in her second of the day.

Class B saw rookie Larry Jones nip Keith Tucker with Jones winning due to finishing with a higher ringer percentage. Bryant Smith Jr. finished third. The two met twice on the day with Tucker winning the first game easily 63-37, but Jones rallied to take the second game 46-44.
