“The problem is whether the American people have loyalty enough, honor enough, patriotism enough, to live up to their own Constitution.” – Frederick Douglass
“Our Constitution—like the Declaration of Independence before it—was predicated on a simple truth: One’s liberty, not to mention one’s dignity, was something to be shielded from—not provided by—the State.” – Clarence Thomas
With the election of Donald J. Trump to the presidency, our country is heading in a direction it hasn’t seen since Ronald Reagan held the office. With this last election, our country has taken a hairpin turn away from woke progressivism and is driving back on the road to common sense. What this means to the political landscape, in long run, remains to be seen, but there are some pretty strong indicators of what is likely to occur.
For the Republicans, it looks like things are going extraordinarily well for both the near and long term future. Economically, it appears that if President Trump is able to get his agenda for the economy put into place, the United States will attract more foreign investment into our manufacturing, tech sphere and businesses. This will mean more jobs for Americans and more money circulating. Hopefully, it will also mean a reduction in our national debt. In the energy sector, if the administration’s stated policies are put into effect, (using all energy sources to include renewables, (wind, solar, hydro and geothermal), fossil fuels and nuclear, there will be more energy power, more energy exports, more higher paying jobs.
Culturally, the Republicans are on the side of most Americans who favor logic and common sense. Issues such as biological men in women’s sports, the transitioning of children to the sex opposite of their birth gender, the grooming of even preschoolers toward sexual deviance or conditioning young children with drag queen story hours, the huge bulk of Americans are with the Republicans.
While their policies are a major part of the Republican’s favorability with the public, the Democrats seem to be aiding Republicans at every turn. The public is almost 80% against almost everything the Democrats have been pushing since Obama. Our people want Elon Musk and DOGE to find and weed out waste, fraud and corruption. The Democrats are loudly and publicly opposing DOGE and the Republicans at every step. It looks like they, the Dems, want illegal alien criminals to stay in our country. They want a continuation of DEI, in schools, government and businesses. They want biological men in women’s sports. The Dems have done nothing but unsuccessfully throw money at the homeless problem, have passed laws that encourage more crime and elected prosecutors who rarely prosecute what they consider to be “lesser crime”.
Politically the Democrats have a very weak reserve bench and they are struggling to find a leader who can overcome the far leftist wing of their party. Kamala can’t put two sentences together without listeners wondering what the heck she was talking about. The visual of Chuck Schumer looking down through his half glasses, has all the charisma of a stale loaf of white bread. When Hakeem Jeffries speaks he looks and sounds like a robot. He – seems to – put a comma – after every word – or every other word – and then punctuates these pauses with automaton hand gestures. AOC and her squad are so far to the socialist, communist, globalist left, that if they take control of the Democrat party, they will never again win another national election.
The Republicans, on the other hand, have an amazingly deep bench to draw from. Vice President J. D. Vance is superbly articulate, has a solid grasp of all the issues, is quick on his feet, and is being groomed by President Trump. These same attributes could be used to describe almost all of Trump’s cabinet. Whether it’s Marco Rubio, Tulsi Gabbart, Pete Hegseth, Pam Bondi, Kristi Noem or any of the others, they all look very competent, especially when confronted with a hostile legacy press. The Republican bench also includes Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and Texas Governor Greg Abbot, as well as Senators Tim Scott, Ted Cruz and Rick Scott.
As it looks now, if President Trump and the MAGA agenda is even half as successful as it appears they will be, the next 12 years, at least, will be dominated by the populist Republicans. The future road, however, is often fraught with potholes and unforeseen obstacles. Voters, sometimes, are fickle for no apparent reason. After Winston Churchill led and inspired England through what seemed, at the beginning, to be an unlikely victory in WWII, the Brits voted him and his party out of office. So all we can do is wait and see. Pray that America will be made great again, soon and in the foreseeable future.

Well said Buz. Many scary issues in play with dozens of “inferior” court judges out to stop Trump’s executive orders that must be stopped (Article III Section 1). Per the constitution inferior judges NOT having good behavior can possibly be removed with a proper SCOTUS ruling (Article III Section 1).
The SCOTUS will be key to getting through the revitalization and return to constitutional government with a new business sense of operation. I am gagging on the revelations of DOGE as they pursue the various executive agencies-departments for lost or ignored fiscal matters.
Tom, Newt Gingrich suggested on that Constitutionally, Congress creates the inferior courts and can therefore eliminate them. If a few of the judges in these federal district courts that are ruling over their jurisdictional authority are eliminated, the rest might resist the temptation to do so in the future.
