Man Suspected of Fabricating Several Crimes to Get Back at Former Employer – YCSO

On Tuesday, January 7th, Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office ended a lengthy investigation into a Cottonwood man who is now the POI (Person Of Interest) facing 32 criminal charges.

Toward the end of 2023, the POI was found liable in a civil damages case against his former employer, who was also his ex-girlfriend.  The court-ordered judgment caused the POI in this case to owe $140,000.00 to the plaintiffs/ victims.

Over the last year, YCSO deputies and detectives believe the POI began fabricating criminal allegations against his former boss/girlfriend, her company, and one of her employees, going so far as to lure an employee to a home under false pretenses to “hold him until deputies arrived.”  The POI in this case then reported the “trespassing” and requested criminal charges against the employee.   Instead, the POI was the one cited for trespassing on the property.  The POI continued to make criminal allegations against his ex, complaining that no arrests were made.  However, during the investigation into the claims, deputies came to suspect that the POI was fabricating and orchestrating these events, which included allegations of armed robbery, burglary, trespassing, unlawful imprisonment, weapons misconduct, violations of civil orders, fraud schemes, and other crimes.

After securing a search warrant, deputies and detectives arrested the POI outside his home on Tuesday.

Several firearms were located in the home.  After learning the POI was prohibited from possessing firearms, additional charges may be added.
