“There is one day that is ours. Thanksgiving Day is the one day that is purely American.” – O. Henry
This coming Thursday brings in the start of the holiday season. As a kid, I didn’t appreciate Thanksgiving as much as I do now. I, like most kids, much preferred Christmas. As I matured, I came to realize that while Christmas demonstrates one of the better human attributes, that of giving, Thanksgiving represents an equal human trait; that of gratitude. This year there is so much to be thankful for. While there has been some illness with some of our relatives, the prognosis looks good.
Economically, like everyone else, we have felt the drain of inflation, but it hasn’t come close to bankrupting us. In our family, our sons and their families seem to be weathering inflation, although it has caused some belt tightening. Still, we thank God for getting the country through the COVID pandemic, and the draconian government rules that were unconstitutionally imposed on our people. Also, our country has withstood the attacks the Biden regime imposed on the First and Second Amendments, among other tyrannical, “lawfare” attacks on political opponents. We are thankful for the results of the election on November 5.
Despite what the fear mongering corporate media has spewed, Trump’s election does not mean the end of our country’s democracy, the sensation of all future elections or the reincarnation of Adolf Hitler in the form of Donald Trump. It is almost beyond comprehension, that everything they project that Trump will do, is exactly what they have done in the last four years.
The enormous Trump election victory was a miracle considering the odds against him. The legacy media “news items” about Trump were over 90% negative. Their stories about Kamala Harris were more about 85% positive. The Democrats raised and used over a billion dollars, hundreds of millions more than Trump’s campaign. The Democrat party is reeling. The corporate media will die an agonizing death if it doesn’t drastically change its ways. Their record of lies and biased “fact checking” has revealed to most Americans that they can’t be trusted and their followers are dropping by the day.
What Trump’s election foreshadows is the end of many corruptive practices and cultural applications that have been pushed by the Obama/Biden/Harris Democrat party since 2009. First and foremost, with Trump and the Republicans in charge in Washington, “lawfare”, the practice of utilizing the power of government to prosecute political opponents will stop. Those with the opposite views of those in power will not be investigated or harassed by the FBI or other federal law enforcement agencies. Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Critical Race Theory will be removed from our federal agencies, and even more important, from our military. At the direction of Elon Musk and Vivek Ramaswamy, our federal bureaucracy should be greatly pared down with the savings of trillions of tax dollars.
The cancel culture was already in its death throes when many of its practitioners started canceling each other. With the Trump election, it is ready for burial. The she/her, they/them and other “pronoun” idiocy will also soon be ready for the trash bin. The sexual transitioning and the physical/chemical mutilation of juveniles will soon become illegal, as it is in many European countries. Parents will again be advised and will make the decisions about their children’s medical and mental problems and what procedures will be allowed.
The ridiculous idea that an individual man can declare himself a women or vice versa will be seen for the sham it is. That individual’s decision will not have the force of law or the government behind it. Any person with an Y chromosome in his genes will be disqualified from competing in women’s sports.
These are just a few of the transformations that the Trump Administration will attempt, and probably accomplish, to return our government back to the Constitutional Republic our founders intended. This election proves that the American voters want a return to Common Sense. As the courageous college swimmer, and now feminist activist, Riley Gaines pointed out, this elections was, “a rejection of absurdity.” Happy Thanksgiving

I always appreciated Thanksgiving growing up. My cousins and Grandparents from out of state would always be there. There were 8 first cousins at two card tables (the kid tables) for every thanksgiving. That made the day really special. We rotated to different relatives houses every year. So I had Thanksgiving dinners in Illinois, Wisconsin and Indiana over the course of my youth.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours, George.
