Voter Due Diligence – Buz Blog

It’s an indisputable fact that the legacy, corporate, mainstream media is tilted so far to the left that if they were a ship, they would capsize. Anyone who watches their nightly propaganda or reads their daily “news” items can hardly come to any other conclusion than that these purveyors of such slanted, so-called progressive information, are not very intelligent. Even worse, they lack the imagination and/or vocabulary to change the daily talking points they receive from the Democrat National Committee.

You could have tuned in Rachel Maddow and heard her say, “The walls are closing in on Trump,” for some imagined scandal. Anderson Cooper would say the exact same thing. So would Joy Reid. So would Joe Scarborough and all of the talking heads on the network news. One would think that at least one of these alleged journalists would change the wording to “Trump is being boxed in.” That would require more smarts and creative thinking than any of them could muster.

The mainstream media’s worst journalistic sin, however, is failing to report real news stories that would inform citizens of issues they should know, and that would affect the way they vote. Eventually, all of the biased progressive partisan stories they report get debunked. The Trump pee pee video, Russian collusion, Trump calling Nazis “good people,” January 6 insurrection and dozens of other fictions pushed by the leftist press, are now proveably untrue. But these journalism giants don’t report that.

Radio and TV host Chris Plante has correctly stated that the most insidious power is the power to ignore. The result of this withholding of critical news items is that the low information voters, who only get their info from these major news outlets, never get important data that would allow them to make educated votes.

As much as these communist/socialist/progressive news organizations are culpable for the current hardships our country is saddled with now, the main fault lies with the low information voters themselves. Our Founding Fathers gave us a government that empowered us with the right to elect our representatives. Those representatives are supposed to study the issues and enact laws that will benefit our citizens.

The right to vote, like all rights, comes with certain responsibilities and duties. A responsible voter will do his or her “due diligence”. That does not mean just voting for a candidate because he belongs to the voter’s party. It means that the voter will look at an incumbent’s record on issues of importance. It means the voter will look at a candidate’s history and background. It means the elector will listen and/or read the candidate’s views and research what others say about the candidate.

Listen and read every political side’s view of the candidates. Information from all sides not only informs about the candidates, it also relays to the voter which side or position in the political spectrum is the most trustworthy.

What we, as well informed and educated citizens can do is, to inform our friends and neighbors about what we have determined about the candidates. We should encourage others to do their own investigations into candidates. We need to show them the articles, websites and other sources of information that enabled us to come to our conclusions about the candidates. Once we’ve done this, we’ve met our due diligence obligations.
