A Jazz Journey at the Elks Presents Saxophilia 2 – A History of the Jazz Saxophone, Saturday, April 13, at 7 pm

Enjoy a great evening of jazz music in the beautiful Elks’ Crystal Hall on the 3rd floor of the Performing Arts Center.

Join us for the next concert in our series of jazz music exploration as we celebrate the saxophone! No instrument is more synonymous with the sound of jazz than the rich, raspy tenor of the saxophone. Think of artists such as Charlie Parker, John Coltrane and Sidney Bechet who helped to define this instrument. In part, thanks to them, the saxophone is now the undeniable staple of jazz.

Dave Russell, Chris Counelis, and Tony Vacca will join Mike Vax and musicians from around Arizona to present this evening that will include not only the music, but historical facts and anecdotes about the music and the musicians who have performed America’s True Art Form for over 100 years.
Beer, Wine and other beverages available for purchase.
