Trumpets are well-known in jazz music for creating that bold and bright sound that the genre is well known for. In the 1920s, the trumpet became one of the first instruments to be recorded and played by many great jazz players.
Trumpeters Mike Vax, Louise Baranger, Joe Leyva and Dave Scott will bring you an evening of trumpet sounds from Louis Armstrong to Al Hirt, King Oliver to Clark Terry, Harry James to Miles Davis, and more. They are joined by Howard Alden on Guitar, Selwyn Reams on Bass, and Ken French on Drums.
Musicians and singers from around Arizona will be joining together to present evenings that will include not only the music, but historical facts and anecdotes about the music and the musicians who have performed America’s True Art Form for over 100 years.
Beer, Wine and other beverages available for purchase.
The show starts at 7 pm at the Elks Performing Arts Center. 3rd floor, in the Crystal Hall. Tickets can be purchased HERE
