Two snowy weather events passed through Prescott last week. Both were short-lived, but kept our Street Maintenance Department busy!
I want to give Brian Scott, our Street Maintenance Superintendent a big thumbs-up for keeping our residents informed about road conditions and operations. His twice-daily updates are quite helpful in letting all of us know what is happening.
I also want to offer my thanks to the Street Maintenance Crews that work so hard through the night to clear the streets as quickly as possible.

During last week’s Study Session, Council heard from the City’s Community Development Department, and also listened to a presentation regarding the 2024 Water Management Policy proposals. Several recommendations were provided by the Mayor’s Commission for Water Policy Review and Monitoring.
The Commission is recommending an updated 2024 Water Management Policy to the City Council and also that the City begin the process to develop a long-term water management plan, incorporating the Water Resource Management Model.
Council will discuss specific recommendations in a later meeting. There is a need to have a policy that is as functional and efficient as possible, and we don’t want to rush through this process.

At the last Voting Meeting, Council considered a Special Use Permit request by AT&T to allow for the construction of an 80-foot Wireless Tower next to an existing Water Tank on Pioneer Parkway near Williamson Valley Road.
The purpose of this request was to improve their service coverage in the Williamson Valley and Pioneer Parkway Region. AT&T was seeking to locate the tower within the State Land Department parcel that has an existing City of Prescott water tank on the hill located near the intersection of Pioneer Parkway and Williamson Valley Road.
After hearing all the information, and taking numerous comments from the public, Council voted 6-1 against the Special Use Permit.
