Two Men Rescued After Off-Highway Vehicle Accident

A 40-year-old Humboldt man and his 68-year-old father apparently escaped injury after their Off-Highway side-by-side vehicle rolled on its side near Dewey. The Yavapai County Search and Rescue OHV team located the men and brought them out of the area safely Sunday evening.

Fatal Fire in Paulden

A 77-year old Paulden resident perished in a fire Sunday night at his home. Deputies say the residence was fully engulfed in flames when first responders arrived. The cause of the fire is under investigation, but at this time authorities say there is no indication of foul play.

Tragic Hiking Accident in the Verde

A 72-year old Verde Valley resident apparently fell to his death in the Cottonwood area while on a hike Sunday afternoon with family members. Deputies report that the group found itself on top of a rocky area with no apparent way down. They said the victim then fell from the rocks and was found a short time later. One of the family members attempted CPR but to no avail.

Two Hurt in Off-Highway Vehicle Accident

Two teenaged boys were injured in a single-vehicle OHV accident Saturday afternoon on Bloody Basin Road, southeast of Prescott. After speaking with those involved and a witness, deputies said speed may have been a factor in the side-by-side missing a curve and rolling twice. A 13-year-old passenger was ejected. He was airlifted to a Phoenix hospital and his condition is unknown. A 14-year-old passenger who was also injured was taken to the hospital by a family member. Two other teens in the vehicle apparently escaped injury.

Prescott Man Arrested on Drug Charges

A Prescott resident was arrested on drug charges Saturday evening in Mayer. Deputies responded to a call of someone on a motorcycle harassing campers in the area and located the driver, 33-year-old Latonio Wilson, who was arrested on two outstanding warrants from the Tucson area. Deputies say a subsequent search of the man turned up methamphetamine and other related items. Wilson was booked into jail on felony counts of Possession of Dangerous Drugs and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
