Vehicle Restrictions at Lynx Lake South Shore, May 16 – 20, 2022

Starting on Monday, May 16 and continuing through Friday, May 20, 2022, Lynx Lake South Shore Day-Use gates will remain closed to facilitate waterline replacement work in the South Shore area. The flush toilets at North Shore are available; however, visitors may experience periodic interruptions. The vault toilets at South Shore are expected to be available.

Waterline replacement throughout the Lynx Lake Recreation Area is expected to be completed in July of 2022.

As a reminder, trail improvement projects are also underway in the Lynx Lake area. Crews are performing heavy trail maintenance on the paved sections of the Lynx Lake Trail #311 to maintain and restore the accessibility of this popular trail.

Maintenance activities will require closing portions of the trail throughout the project which is expected to be completed towards the end of September 2022.

The Forest recognizes that Lynx Lake Recreation Area is popular for residents and visitors. Therefore, vehicle restrictions and trail work is being scheduled during the week and not on weekends. Trail crews are working diligently to ensure that only the paved sections of trail being worked on are closed from 8am to 5pm each day, allowing full use outside of these hours. The unpaved east side of the lake will remain open throughout the project.

Please obey the posted closures as they are being implemented for public safety and to allow the contractor and crews to work most efficiently.
Updated temporary toilet and trail closure information will be shared on Facebook, Twitter and the Prescott National Forest Website.

If you have any questions please call the Bradshaw-Chino Valley Ranger District at (928) 443-8000.
