On Thursday, November 5, 2026, at approximately 10:52 PM, Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority (CAFMA) crews responded to a semi-truck rollover involving a vehicle carrying hydrated lime, with the driver reportedly trapped inside. The location was State Route 89, mile marker 333, Chino Valley.
Upon arrival, firefighters encountered significant vehicle damage and large amounts of white powder covering the area. The substance was confirmed to be hydrated lime. Crews established a safety perimeter to limit access to the affected area and protect those nearby.

One CAFMA firefighter was also transported for precautionary evaluation after experiencing irritation from the substance. The firefighter was released later that night and returned to work.
CAFMA was assisted by the Arizona Department of Public Safety, Arizona Department of Transportation, Chino Valley Police Department (CVPD), Copperstate Ambulance, Prescott Fire Department, and Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office. CVPD is investigating the incident.
