Socialism – Buz Blog

Socialism in general has a record of failure so blatant that only an intellectual could ignore or evade it.” – Thomas Sowell

With the election of three more “Democratic Socialist” nominees for Congressional seats in New York City districts, and other socialists winning Democrat nominations, it’s time to take a close look at socialism. The Democrat party is in the midst of a socialist/communist takeover of their party. So-called Democratic Socialist mayors in New York and Seattle, as well as several running in Congressional districts in other states, reflects what the Democrats have tolerated or even encouraged. This tolerance is coming back to bite them. They fear that these extremist candidates and their positions will cause the vast number of independent voters, and some Democrats, to vote for the Republicans, or not vote at all. This would result in Republican wins in the general election.

In many people’s minds, socialism is just a more benign form of communism. This, of course, flies in the face of reality. Even one of the founders of the communist Soviet Union, Vladimir Lenin said, “The goal of socialism is communism.” In fact, in Marxist theory, socialism is merely a transitional stage that is required to ultimately reach a fully communist society.

Both communism and socialism seek to rid the people they govern of the idea of private property. They both govern with the idea of “collectivism”, which means the property is owned and regulated by the government. Socialists/communists don’t directly say that. They say property is owned by “the people”. Both systems reject the idea of capitalism and both seek to control the means of production.

The communist/socialist political-economic systems aim to redistribute wealth. When seeking power, they have to have villains to blame for the disparity in wealth and the causes of poverty. That is why the current Social Democrats rattle on about “billionaires”. Unfortunately, another group they are now attacking is the Jews. This anti-Semitism may be caused by the fact that many of those who are Social Democrat politicians, are also Muslim or even Islamist. Regardless, this is truly an anti-American and immoral position.

Realistically, neither socialism or communism has ever worked anywhere it was used to govern. The reasons are many. If one has a guaranteed job and no monetary incentive to work hard, innovation slows or becomes nonexistent. The quality of the work product diminishes, and absenteeism becomes more prevalent. This environment leads to corruption. It leads to a shortage of goods and services. These systems are not very adaptable, because everything is subject to “central planning”.

Because the systems do not work effectively at all, the shortages inevitable result in corruption. As a result of the lack of services and products, more bureaucracies are added. The populace becomes upset and the government has to suppress dissent and becomes more and more authoritarian. In other words, “The beatings will continue until the complaints stop.”

All of these negative results of prior socialist/communist governments, apparently is no deterrent to those who vote for these Social Democrats, who are really undisguised communists. Some individuals learn from history. Some people learn from other’s mistakes. Some, with collectivist leanings, are doomed to vote for advocates of an always failed form of government.
