Our Founding Fathers were a God fearing, religious group of men. They were well read in history and philosophy, especially political and economic philosophy. They believed that we are entitled to certain things that are provided for us by “the Laws of Nature and of Nature’s God.” They came to these beliefs from their reading and study of the New and Old Testaments. They built a new nation, unlike any other, on the foundation of the Judeo-Christian ethics.

From the very beginning, it is apparent to many Americans, that the hand of God has guided our country through its many trials and difficulties. Our Declaration of Independence was essentially an act of war against Great Britain, the country with the most powerful army and navy in the world at the time. A study of some of the miraculous escapes General Washington and others made from British forces are what some would call good luck, but many of us believe were divine intervention.

With the Obama and Biden Administrations, there was an anti-religion and woke cultural bias that was pushed on our people. The only respite was in the first Trump Administration. His first term was hampered by bureaucrats in the government and intelligence agencies that didn’t want Trump to succeed. This second Trump Administration learned a lot from its first experience in governing. One wonders if it wasn’t the hand of God that turned Donald Trump’s head at the last minute to enable him to serve a second term as president. President Trump thinks so. He believes that his life was spared for a purpose.

There seems to be a religious awakening in the country since the Biden suppression of religious practice and the persecution of the anti-abortion religious. Charlie Kirk was making significant inroads on college campuses and among the young voters everywhere. That is, no doubt, one of the reasons the assassin shot him down. But if that assassin and those who encouraged and promoted such violence were under the false impression that Charlie Kirk would be silenced, they have to be astounded by the response of most Americans.

Charlie’s mission was to save the country from the cultural cesspool in which it had descended and to bring back morality, reason, common sense and God to the public square. The leftists in the press, politics and entertainment have attempted to silence the discussion of God and religion by ridiculing those who express their belief in God, good and evil, and life after death. They had been successful, up to a point. With the courage of a true believer, Charlie Kirk challenged these agnostics, atheists and left wing fanatics with logic, faith and facts. His message was so convincing that crowds kept getting bigger and bigger. Young men, in particular, responded to Charlie’s words and the calm and logical way he presented his arguments, both religious and politically.

While his voice was silenced by an assassin’s bullet, the hand of God has greatly expanded the impact of Charlie’s message. Turning Point USA is growing beyond all expectations since Charlie’s martyrdom. Churches and synagogues are seeing more and more people attending their services. Charlie’s influence lives on and is moving our population back to “a moral and religious people” our Founding Fathers intended our Constitution to govern.
