The Prescott Valley Police Department has responded to a recent increase in street racing and reckless driving reports, particularly involving motorcyclists. In response to these community complaints, officers have focused enforcement efforts on State Route 69, State Route 89A, and Glassford Hill Road.
As of July, Prescott Valley Police Officers have arrested 12 motorcyclists, who were either booked into jail or issued criminal citations. Four of these individuals, who were riding recklessly without license plates, attempted to flee from officers. Locating riders who choose to flee requires significant resources, but doing so is essential for ensuring public safety.
All four fleeing motorcyclists were eventually located, arrested, and booked into jail. These follow-up arrests were made possible with the assistance of other law enforcement agencies. We would like to thank the Prescott Police Department, the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office, and the Arizona Department of Public Safety for their vital support in these investigations.
While it is challenging to locate motorcyclists who choose to evade law enforcement, the officers involved remain committed to their mission. They continue to uphold their promise to the community by conducting thorough professional police work in the safest manner possible.

Great work by PVPD, YCSO and AZ DPS. We’re lucky we have great law enforcement in Yavapai Count.
But, it makes no sense to telegraph enforcement concentration points, like Glassford Hill Road. It’s way better to keep anti-social motorcyclists guessing.
It’s also way better to make sure the folks making trouble pay for 100% of the costs associated with the “challenging” job of tracking them down. Why should the taxpayer cough up the money?
