Prescott Talks: Interview with Bonnie McMinn and Ralph Hess about Proposition 484

The Publisher of Prescott eNews, David Stringer, discusses the City of Prescott’s Proposition 484 with Bonnie McMinn and Ralph Hess, the two people who are bringing this to the voters.

The city of Prescott currently owns 26 parcels that are considered open space, but only three are protected in the City Charter; Watson Lake, Willow Lake, and Acker Park. Proposition 484 will place all the parcels in the Charter. The parcels can be used for other uses, but if a city council wants to sell one of the parcels, it will have to go before the voters.

  1. This is the most intelligent discussion I’ve heard on Prop 484. Prescott is lucky to have such community spirited leaders stepping forward to educate voters on what Prop 484 really does and why its needed.

Thanks so much for getting the word out on Prop 484. A lot of people are not verbal—a visual presentation is very helpful.

  3. So proud of these two who worked so hard on this Proposition. Prescott is indeed fortunate.

  4. All over the world there is a realization that to ensure long term water supply open space must be protected. No where more evident is Tucson, Arizona which became the number one desert water regenerative community in the World! Their aquifer is filling rather than declining because they realized that open space for water regeneration is crucial.
Kudos to all those fighting to bring valid information for we voters to take a wise stand for our future. Protect open space and protect our water.
