City of Prescott Pavement Preservation Operations Continue

On June 16, 2025, the City of Prescott in conjunction with their contractor, Sunland Asphalt & Construction, Inc., will begin another round of pavement preservation work, which will impact traffic patterns in the affected areas.

Fog seal is a pavement preservation treatment that helps to extend the functional lifecycle of asphalt pavement by deterring oxidation and water intrusion.

During the application, one lane of traffic will remain accessible in each direction as the work progresses. Please observe temporary lane restrictions, reduced speed limits, and flagging operations. Motorists should anticipate delays and plan alternate routes or allow additional time for travel through the project area. Access to businesses and residences will be preserved whenever feasible; however, temporary restrictions may occur during this operation. On street parking is restricted during the project. Do not drive on the fog seal material until cones and/or traffic control are removed.

These operations will impact the following city streets:

  • Hassayampa Village Ln – Thumb Butte Rd to Copper Basin Rd
  • Fair St – Miller Valley Rd to Gail Gardner Way
  • Iron Springs Rd – Williamson Valley Rd to Whipple St
  • Williamson Valley Rd – Iron Springs Rd to Shadow Valley Ranch Rd
  • Gail Gardner – Willow Creek Rd to W. Gurley St
  • Willow Lake Rd – Hwy 89 to Willow Creek Rd

A door hanger with more detailed information will be delivered to those businesses and residents directly affected by the work. This product is weather-sensitive but work is expected to be complete by June 27, 2025.
