Handelman, Harman, Claim MI Windows Open Top Spots

Photo: Those placing in the tournament were (L-R) Class A winner Hal Handleman, Class B winner Steve Harman, Class A second place John Lincoln, and Class B second place Paul Machado.

As the weather begins to warm up in Prescott so did the pitchers who competed in the MI Windows Open held at Watson Lake Park. Starting temperature was 70* and by tournaments end was in the low 80s.

It was a day of good competition with no clear dominating player that made for the last games crucial to see who would prevail in the end.

In Class A, Hal Handelman used a late rally to defeat Trisha Lincoln in the final game to go home with first place. The loss placed Trisha Lincoln down to third because of a slightly lower ringer percentage. She started her day off tossing an 80% game to win that game easily, but just came up short in her final game. Handelman finished (4-2) ahead of John Lincoln who fell to Cody Williams in his final game to finish at (3-3).

Class B saw favorite Steve Harman take the top spot with Paul Machado making the trip up from Florence to claim second place. Emmett Jones finished third by pitching four percentage points better than Jon Turnbull.

The next tournament at Watson Lake Park will be this Saturday, June 7. This week starts the summer schedule time with an 8am start time.  All tournaments in Prescott and Prescott Valley will start at 8am in June, July, and August.
