Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University hosts Donald R. Baier for a special Aviation History Presentation that explores the historic flight of Charles Lindbergh across the Atlantic Ocean in May 1927. This unique lecture retells Lindbergh’s inspiring journey by looking through the National Air and Space Museum archives and photographs of what continues to be one of the most celebrated moments in aviation history.
The event is free and open to the public on Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2025, from 6-7 p.m. at Embry-Riddle’s Davis Learning Center (DLC) Auditorium. All are welcome to learn more about one of aviation’s most iconic moments.
As the first person to fly solo and nonstop across the Atlantic Ocean, Charles Lindbergh became an international hero demonstrating the potential of aviation for long-distance flights. “The Spirit of St. Louis” is now housed in the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C. as a reminder of Lindbergh’s historic achievement.
Donald R. Baier served as a Docent at the National Air and Space Museum in Washington, D.C., for over 30 years. With a distinguished career as a U.S. Air Force and commercial airline pilot, Baier logged over 19,000 flight hours and now resides in Prescott, Arizona, where he continues to share his passion for aviation as a facilitator and guest speaker.
