  1. At 86 I am more careful driving or walking in parking lots. So many people are in a hurry in a location where people are backing out and walking with a cart. Common sense would suggest slow movement in your vehicle until out of parking lot, but we know common sense is no longer common. Speed signs won’t help and speed bumps annoy everyone. Walk near vehicles and watch for the too fast guys and gals.

    1. Tom, you and I are in the same boat, age-wise. Slowing
down to 5-10 mph in parking lots may be irksome, but
hurting or killing someone who has slow responses when walking or backing out of parking spaces is far
too risky. I like to park in the hinterlands of the parking lots so as to hopefully avoid hitting or being hit by other
cars, even though I have to walk a few more steps to get
      to the stores.
I am even more concerned about the number of people who tail-gate me on Williamson Valley Road, no matter how fast I speed up to put some distance between me and them. They seem to have no concept of accident prevention, and would certainly plow into me if I were to
have to stop suddenly to avoid an animal, or debris in
from an accident in front of me where I have to slam on my brakes to avoid the crash site, debris on the road or humans on the roadway.

      1. I also park in the furthermost section of the supermarket parking lot to avoid getting my car doors dinged by inconsiderate shoppers, but also to get in as many steps as I can in a day!

Speeding in a parking lot? I see it every day!

  2. I commonly see people disregarding the posted speed limits and tailgating me as if they are in such a hurry that SAFETY isn’t their first priority as it should be. Do we need to hire more police officers, lower the speed limits and indeed put frequent speed bumps in parking lots due to many people who are in such a hurry?
    SOMETHING NEEDS TO BE DONE!!!

  3. Costco needs to build an additional location either in Prescott Valley or in town. It’s too packed at this Costco and the drivers are the most out of control “Karens” I’ve ever witnessed. Me and my husband stopped shopping there in the day time.
My husband’s boss witnessed the incident and said it was allegedly a road rage incident.
