Day Two of the 14th annual Prescott Film Festival wrapped up with a variety of more entertaining films. Attendance continues to grow as more and more come to see the new releases.
It was announced before the film, ‘What We Find On The Road’ that it has earned a theatrical release, which means it will be in theatres. It is a very big deal for any film at the film festival to make this kind of giant step. Look for it in November. No spoiler alert here, but it is has an interesting story that encompasses a lot of travel. The characters are likeable enough and I can think back at seemingly knowing some of these people as I have gone through my life. I think you could very well feel the same way.
Saturday afternoon at 4 pm, the award winning film, ‘The Cowboy and the Queen’ is showing right after the short film, ‘Deep In My Heart is A Song’.
Saturday night, the film Pre-Fab! is a must for any Beatles fans. A resurgence of air play came from the Beatles last single ‘Now And Then’ that was released last fall in 2023. It all of a sudden brought the ‘Fab Four’ back into the limelight.
This is a documentary of what ifs. You will get to know who Colin Hanton is and what his life was like to be the original drummer of The Quarrymen. There are interviews with John Lennon and Paul McCartney about the good ole days of starting up their band in high school. Director Todd Thompson is scheduled to appear bringing his collection of Skiffle music to share.
Also on Saturday, at 1 pm is the Winner of the Audience Award at Spokane, ‘Avenue of the Giants’ and showing at 4 pm is ‘Deep In My Heart is A Song’, which won two awards at the Boston Independent film Festival.
There is still plenty to see and enjoy. You may obtain more information about the films and tickets at the www.prescottfilmfestival.com
