Movies Delight Patrons at the Prescott Film Festival

Photo: Director and co-executive producer of The Wolf in the Chute, Barry Tolli, and country singer Matt Robertson, whose songs “Bronc Star” and “Rodeo Mom” are featured in the film, answer questions following the showing

The 14th Annual Prescott Film Festival is going on this week and opened up with some local flavor to the delight of many who knew the participants.

A large crowd turned out for the premiere of “The Wolf in the Chute.” The film made locally featured a local teenager, Braylon Johnson, the three-time World Champion cowboy. The evening was a special night for local director, and co-executive producer Barry Tolli, who with his wife, co-executive producer Katy, and family, enjoyed greeting friends as they arrived at the Jim & Linda Lee Performing Arts Center. “This is very cool and exciting. There are a lot of people who put the time and effort into this film. The Johnsons were great to work with and of course Braylon was amazing. We were thrilled with the turnout and it was great seeing it on the big screen with everybody tonight. Helen (Stephenson) did a great job and the Q and A was great. The after party was fun as well. Thank you to everyone who came out and shared this experience with us.”

About the film, Tolli added, “We started filming last October and had most of it shot by February. I put it together pretty much as we shot it, so post production was not too lengthy in the final stages.” Prescott High School students can look forward having the opportunity to learn from Tolli as he teaches film in his classroom once again this fall.

The Film Festival runs until July 20 and is located at Yavapai College on the Prescott Campus, which is presenting fantastic films, fascinating guest filmmakers, fun after-parties and fabulous live music.
