Location: approximately: 3 miles north of Congress in Yavapai County
The fire is estimated at 380-390 acres. Fire behavior has moderated, but remains active on the east side near Hillside Road. Crews continuing with firing operations along the northeast flank of fire as part of structure protection to the mine and mining infrastructure.
Structures are still threatened along with values at risk to include the BNSF rail line to the east of the fire. The wind-driven fire is burning in grass, brush, shrub and pinyon-juniper.
SET (pre-evacuation) status for residents in the Congress area near Ghost Town Road.
Four Arizona Forestry hand crews, multiple engines, and water tenders are supporting the incident. Approximately 125 personnel are assigned to the fire.
A 50 acre fire is reported near the Bagdad, Arizona, airport as well.
