The Arizona Game & Fish Department will be releasing water from Lynx Lake over the next couple of weeks to fulfill obligations to existing downstream water right holders. Visitors may notice heavy equipment accessing the lake from North Shore, placement of 40’ sections of pipe for a temporary siphon, and a drop in water level (~3 ft.) during this time. The siphon opening will be ~ 60 ft. underwater and screened. Installation is expected to be complete this Friday and the total project is expected to take approximately two weeks.
Impact to visitors is expected to be minimal; however, visitors are advised to stay clear of the pipe (particularly during installation and removal) and comply with any safety warnings. Work near the spillway is scheduled between 6 a.m. and 3 p.m. daily through Friday, July 12, during which time there will be fewer parking spots, and visitors will not be able to hike the full loop around the Lake on Trail #311.
