The Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority (CAFMA) is proud to announce the donation of a Type 1 fire engine to the Oatman Fire District, located in Mohave County, Arizona.

This donation comes as part of CAFMA’s commitment to working with fire agencies, both locally and statewide, to improve emergency response readiness.

The donated fire engine is a 2003 HME with a 1500 GPM pump and 750-gallon water tank. Previously serving as CAFMA’s training engine at the Central Arizona Regional Training Academy (CARTA) in Prescott Valley, Arizona, this vehicle is equipped to meet the operational needs of the Oatman Fire District.

“We are happy to provide this engine to Oatman Fire,” said Chief Cody Rose, CAFMA Assistant Chief of Planning and Logistics. “We understand the importance of having reliable equipment to effectively respond to emergencies, and we are confident that this donation will strengthen Oatman Fire’s mission to serve their community well.”

Following the acquisition of three new clean-cab concept engines by CAFMA, three older frontline engines were transitioned to the reserve engine fleet. With this transition, CAFMA identified surplus engines based on years of service, with one remaining engine available for donation.

“CAFMA donating this engine, alongside essential firefighting equipment, enhances the emergency response capabilities of our all-volunteer organization,” said Fire Chief Gail Robinson of Oatman Fire District. “CAFMA’s dedication to assisting fellow fire

  1. This article also reminded me that the Central Arizona Fire and Medical Authority (CAFMA) is now the biggest item on my property tax bill from the county. Note that the Central Yavapai Fire District taxing authority is subsidizing the Chino Valley Fire district. This should have never been allowed to happen if the Yavapai County Board of Supervisors had required it be put to a vote of the people.
