A commitment is a full effort to a cause, relationship, activity or event. A half hearted dedication is not a commitment at all. After the Reagan revolution, liberals and the left were pretty much discredited. While not actually shunning the term “liberal”, few candidates ran as liberals. Those who were radicals in the sixties and seventies, went undercover. Many were found and prosecuted for the crimes they committed in that era. As the saying goes about time healing all wounds, a lot of that healing is because memories are dimmed with the passage of time.

Those who had been in the Students for a Democratic Society, the Weather Underground, the Symbionese Liberation Army and other Marxist groups did not give up. When they got out of prison or came out of the underground, they were still committed. Those who returned from Canada after President Carter pardoned them for fleeing the draft, were still committed. Some became college professors, some went into politics in left leaning districts. Some joined Neo-Marxist organizations like the National Lawyers Guild and the Southern Poverty Law Center. They recruited and indoctrinated students, young activists and community organizers.

So what eventually happened is that the radical anti-Viet Nam war protesters, those that spit on our returning veterans, gained seniority in their professions, society and the Democrat party. They, and the proteges that they mentored, obtained positions of power in academia, media, business and politics. The results have produced our country’s drift toward socialist, far leftist laws, government, the judiciary and woke culture. The presidency of Donald Trump put a damper on this drift and was, in fact, turning it around until the Covid lock down and the government’s draconian response demolished many of our Constitutional, God given rights.

Commitment to bad ideology can produce results, just the same as commitment to moral ideals can. Occasionally, a commitment can overreach its own logic. This is occurring now in the cultural realm when the government, the media and woke corporations are pushing transsexualism, Critical Race Theory, and the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion idea. It appears that the woke left has overstepped their commitment. Those in the mainstream of American thinking, are finally fighting back and are committed to reversing these idiotic trends. Americans are fighting back at school board meetings, at corporate board of directors meetings, and by boycotting woke businesses and products.

The best example of resisting the globalist, radical trends is University of Kentucky swimmer Riley Gaines who has shown her commitment to reversing the trend of letting men, who identify as women, compete in women’s sports. Despite the verbal and physical harassment targeting her, Riley continues to cross the country addressing this idiotic, anti-reality, biology rejecting policy that is sacrificing women’s sports on the alter of woke, leftist retardation.

Regardless of what the crazies on the left say and how they try to obfuscate the issue, the science is simple. Women have two XX chromosomes. Men have an X and a Y chromosome. If an athlete has a Y chromosome, HE should only be able to compete against other men. And concerning commitment, if these MALE athletes who say that they identify as women were really committed to that idea, they could prove that commitment by having their male genitals removed. More than likely, though, after winning a few meets, medals and races, they will conveniently revert back to their male status in their personal lives.
