During the regular meeting of the Board of Supervisors on August 16, 2023, a unanimous decision was made to merge the Community Health Services Department (CHS) and the Community Health Center of Yavapai (CHCY), into “Community Health Services” under the leadership of Director Leslie Horton. Willa Miller will retain her position as Assistant Director of CHCY, while Carol Lewis will continue as Assistant Director of CHS. Assuming the role of Community Health Services Administrator, Kathy Yancy will take on comprehensive responsibilities encompassing financial and operational activities across the department.
Yavapai County Manager Maury Thompson expressed gratitude for the readiness of these individuals to take on elevated responsibilities in their new capacities. He holds an optimistic outlook for the efficacy of this fresh organizational structure and leadership team in advancing the goals of both CHCY and CHS.
Recognition is extended to Sharon Rickman for her devoted six-plus years of service as the Executive Director of the Community Health Center of Yavapai. Her unwavering dedication to delivering quality medical services to all Yavapai County residents is greatly appreciated.
