Florida Governor Ron DeSantis has stated that Florida is where “woke” goes to die. Its death cannot come too soon for those with a functioning brain. Just about every woke idea, activity or subject is in opposition to reason. At best, some woke theories seem okay on the surface, but greater scrutiny reveals the fallacies in them.
One of the woke terms most often used is “equity”. Most people understand that equity is defined as fairness. In the woke vocabulary, however, woke means equal outcomes. For instance, if blacks represent 13% of our total population, then the inmate prison population should only be 13%. The fact that percentage is almost three times that, is proof to woke promoters that our country suffers from “systemic racism”. That faulty thinking is exposed when one projects woke, so-called equity into professional sports. What would the NBA, the NFL and major league baseball look like if only 13% of their players could be black?
“Social justice” has much more to do with social engineering than with actual justice. Any examination of other woke programs like Critical Race Theory, Drag Queen Story Hour for small children, advancement of sexual transitioning and many other woke promoted deficiencies, uncovers the stupidity in woke thinking.
But woke is also very dangerous to God-given rights. Under the guise of prohibiting “hate speech”, many universities and businesses are suppressing free speech. With the pretense of avoiding hurting anyone’s feelings, students, teachers, supervisors and employees are required to use “pronouns” and references to the sex of people that are biologically inaccurate and contrary to reality.
One wonders if there are that many brain dead people in our country who follow, believe and support these woke ideas. Evidence suggests that there is. When all of the major sport franchises, most entertainment companies, most universities and a number of investment and financial institutions “virtue signal” their agreement, the population of the logically impaired must be enormous.
How did it get this way? This cancer seems to have had its inception at our institutions of higher learning. After indoctrinating a couple of generations of students, it metastasized from those graduates into the business, entertainment, financial and political arenas. This indoctrination worked so well that it became, not only an ideology of its proponents, but their religion, too.
Now, another impetus for the woke philosophy is showing itself. It is money. How many woke organizations are being hired by company and government Human Resource departments to teach employees about “White privilege” or alleged racism or sexism or any other ism? Napoleon Bonaparte once said, “In politics, stupidity is not a handicap.” In today’s world, he would not only have recognized the stupidity in our woke politicians, but also in our woke CEOs, entertainers and other well known people of the woke persuasion.

Influencing young people can be dangerous as they desire to learn and understand. With the people in their educational and entertainment path the tendency is to “believe” those in positions of authority; it’s natural. So, when that new speak is false or misleading and no discussion is generally allowed; we create a generation of ill informed people. They have been “woked”.
America and other countries have been ignoring the transition in media and most dangerously; in our governments schools and libraries. While a deletion of American -western values and culture has been replaced with soft social issues a miss-educated youth class that has lost the value of history and truthful discussion .
