“If a nation expects to be ignorant and free, in a state of civilization, it expects what never was and never will be.” – Thomas Jefferson to Charles Yancy, 1816
With the midterm elections still in question while votes are still being counted here in Arizona, and in Nevada and Georgia, many of us were disappointed that there wasn’t a huge red wave. While it currently looks like Republicans will take over the House and possibly the Senate, their majorities will be small. We were hoping that a “red wave” would force the Democrats to reassess their leftest, woke, extreme progressive agenda, and move their party back to the center.
After mulling over the whole excruciatingly long election season, it seems that the Democrat schemes are the same as in recent election years. Every election, they follow the same pattern: ignorance, fabrication and lies, race baiting and fear.
Ignorance is poison to a free society. If one watches the “man on the street” interviews on television or the internet, it is apparent that vast numbers of our fellow citizens do not know history, geography, current events and how our government works. The Democrats and their allies in the mainstream media want it that way. In fact the last two Democrat Presidents don’t even know how many states are in our Union. Obama thinks there are 57 and Biden says there are 54.
If the mainstream media had mentioned Hunter Biden’s laptop one tenth of the time they mentioned Trump’s “Russian collusion”, some of the Democrat and many independent voters would have realized what a crook Biden is and voted differently. The only time it was alluded to was to say it was “Russian misinformation”. That’s just one story. MSNBC, CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC and PBS give the Democrats about 90% favorable coverage and Republicans less than half that. The negative coverage of conservatives is astronomical when compared with that of the Dems. Is it any wonder that there is so much division in the country? Is it surprising that there is so much hatred for those with opposing points of view, especially if those views are conservative?
On top of that, the Democrats and their media co-conspirators just make things up and then lie that it is true. The Trump/Russia dossier and “pee tape” are prime examples. In this midterm election, President Biden, past President Obama, and many other Democrats, stated that the Republicans wanted to take away Social Security and Medicare. This was a complete lie and they knew it. But they relied on the ignorance of their own Democrat voters and some of the independent voters. How many seniors heard these lies, believed them and voted accordingly?
Practically every Republican candidate, regardless of race, is accused of racism, making racist statements or of being a “White supremasist”. Since the Dems and the media can’t or won’t show any evidence, they accuse their opponents of using “dog whistles” or code words.
To magnify their other tactics, the Democrats always pull the ace out of their deck and inject fear into elections. During the midterm elections, virtually all of the highest ranking Democrats and their media stooges, openly declared that a Republican win would be “the end of Democracy ”. That was an outright lie, but it is part of their playbook. Democrats focus on shallow, unenlightened voters. They will lie to the slightly more aware voters and falsely accuse opponents of racism. Their coup de gras is fear.
Of all their tactics, the most frightening is their reliance on ignorance. As Benjamin Franklin said, “A nation of well informed men who have been taught to know and prize the rights which God gave them cannot be enslaved. It is in the region of ignorance that tyranny begins.”

Mr. Williams, Good morning, you wrote “Democrats, stated that the Republicans wanted to take away Social Security and Medicare. This was a complete lie and they knew it”, well you are just wrong about that one. The GOP is on record with it’s goal of wanting to privatise social security & medicare, senate candidates Blake Masters here in AZ and Don Bolduc in NH were on video saying those exact things. The Democrat’s campaigns drove it into the ground with tv commercials, because seniors who vote are terrified of anything happening to social security and medicare. Rick Scott, the Senate Campaign Chair of the GOP, is up front on cutting growth in medicare and social security and eventually privatising them.
The Republicans shamelessly used racial fear and crime fear to demagogue illegal immigrants. On the commercials here in AZ they show masses of people fighting to race into the country. Well those moments have happened, but they are rare and those people were racing to get over the border to give themselves up to border patrol officers. Why do they want to give themselves up, because our federal law says if you are in the U.S. and you declare asylum, you will be allowed to stay in the U.S. until your case is adjudicated. Until that law is changed we will have a regular flow of immigrants at the southern border.
In reality, if you were to go to any spot on the 1,800 mile southern border, the odds are you would see no illegal immigrants. The commercials said Biden had allowed 5 million illegal immigrants to flood the country through open borders, but in reality only about 37% of those interdicted were allowed to stay, as part of following the federal laws.
Both parties, twist and turn facts to meet their needs, that is why I am registered independent. Have a great day!
Privatizing Social Security and Medicare is not taking it away, it is improving it. If one just put their own money in a low risk market it would make twice, three, four or more times the money they would get from Social Security.
