Your Northern Arizona VA Health Care System is reminding and encouraging local Veterans who served during the Vietnam Era, the Gulf War, or in post-9/11 conflicts to inquire about additional benefits or care through the PACT Act, a historic new law that will help VA deliver care to millions of Veterans affected by burn pits and other toxic exposures.
Every Veteran enrolled in VA healthcare will get a five-minute Toxic Exposure Screening – a series of questions to help determine if he/she might be eligible for additional benefits or care. This will be available at all Veterans Health Administration (VHA) facilities and community-based clinics starting Nov 8.
Three key points:
- Veterans should apply for the PACT Act benefits and care right now
- Applying for PACT Act benefits will not affect a Veteran’s current benefits
- Veterans can learn more by visiting va.gov/PACT or calling 1-800-MY-VA-411
“We are currently reaching out to Veterans and survivors across northern Arizona to make sure that they know about this new law and what it could mean for them and their families,” said Steve Sample, Northern Arizona VA Medical Center Director. “We want every eligible Veteran and survivor to get the benefits and care they’ve earned and deserve.”

Thanks for the info. I am Vietnam Era and was exposed to burn pits in Pohang Korea during cold weather training in the Marine Corp. I have asthma and COPD but was denied by the VA for benefits a couple years ago.
