Prescott Valley Police K-9 Kato Discovers Multiple Drugs

On Thursday, September 15, 2022, just before midnight, Prescott Valley Police Officers stopped a 2002 Jaguar for multiple traffic violations at State Route 69 and Fain Road. Due to the behavior of both driver and passenger, the K-9 Unit was called for backup. Officer Ellison and K9 partner, Kato, responded to the scene and Kato positively alerted to drugs in the vehicle.

Upon searching the vehicle, officers found over five pounds of methamphetamine, nearly $2,000 in United States Currency, and a .22 caliber rifle. One of the vehicle occupants was a prohibited possessor.

Arrested and booked into YCSO Camp Verde Jail on a total of eleven felonies were 68-year-old Sharon Hartnett and 52-year-old John Masters, both Paulden, Arizona residents.

The persons involved have not yet been convicted of a crime and are presumed innocent. The presumption of innocence shall continue until such time that the persons accused may be found guilty by a court of law.

This is one more proof of the value of Prescott Valley Police Department’s K-9 Unit.

  1. Kato should have all the taxpayer-funded T-bones that Kato wants. Great to see him fighting the drug epidemic that Joe Biden and the Democrat Party ignores.

P.S. please don’t point a rifle, chamber down, at Kato’s nuggets any more. Chamber up, chamber flag prominently displayed, barrel pointed in a safe direction, please.
