Prescription Burn Planned

The Prescott Fire Department has approved a commercial burn permit in the general vicinity of the 500 block of Lodge Trail within the Hassayampa sub-division. Arrow Fire and Land Management is intending to burn slash piles tomorrow, March 17th and Thursday March 18th provided it is an approved “burn day” as determined by local conditions and the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality.

Over the course of the two days smoke will likely be noticeable for the duration of the burns. Approximately 40 slash piles are scheduled to be burned and Arrow Fire will provide several fire engines as well as a team of a dozen wildland certified firefighters to stand-by during the burn periods.

Arrow Fire and Land Management has worked collectively with homeowners in the area as well as Prescott Fire Department to mitigate fuels and reduce the danger should a wildfire occur.
