Hungry Kids Project begins 2020-2021 distribution

The Hungry Kids Project began packing weekend food bags today to distribute to families of school age children in Chino Valley, AZ.

Rich Spencer, Hungry Kids Project Manager, gathered with several volunteers on Wednesday, September 9, 2020 at Heritage Middle School to assemble bags and ready them for distribution through local campuses to children identified by the Chino Valley Unified School District (CVUSD) as being in need.

This project supplements the current school-day feeding program provided by the district through the U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA).

“We have identified, as of today, 319 children in the district that are in need of food for the weekend,” said Spencer. “First and foremost, our passion is that the kids get fed. But these volunteers really love coming out too, contributing back to the community.”

Information on receiving assistance through the project or on volunteer and donation opportunities is available by contacting the CVUSD at www.chinovalleyschools.com or by calling 928-636-2458.
