Yavapai College Foundation Seeking Applications for its Board of Directors

The Yavapai College Foundation is currently accepting applications from members of the public to serve on its Board of Directors. For the past 55 years, the Foundation has served student success by funding a variety of scholarships.

In 2025, the Foundation’s efforts supported 514 students with an investment of $683,000 awarded in scholarships, thanks in large part to the generous gifts made by more than 1,200 donors.

“We’re always looking for ways to support our students and help put them on a path to success—not just in their chosen academic programs, but also by helping guide them toward high-paying, high-demand careers,” said Dr. Doug Berry, Acting President of Yavapai College.

“In that regard, the Foundation plays a critical role by providing financial aid through scholarships and investing in academic programs, including skilled trades, nursing and healthcare, and business and entrepreneurship.”

Those interested in submitting an application to serve on the Foundation’s Board of Directors can do so online at the newly redesigned Foundation website at www.yc.edu/foundation.

The website provides information about the multiple academic programs in which the Foundation invests, helping to fuel Yavapai County’s economic development and strengthen its workforce.

The site also enumerates the various ways in which individuals and businesses can create opportunities for students while also securing economic stability and providing skilled workers to serve the residents of Yavapai County, including endowed scholarships and funds, corporate and community partnerships, and tribute and memorial gifts.

“The Foundation’s new website is more than a digital update; it’s a gateway for our community to engage with the life-changing work happening across Yavapai College,” said Jack Smith, Vice President of Community Relations and Legislative Affairs.

“As we launch this new platform, we also encourage individuals who are passionate about education and community impact to apply for Foundation board service and help us expand opportunities for students throughout Yavapai County.”
