Puzzle Rides is pleased to announce that Katie Dufort, the owner and founder of the Prescott company, has been appointed to the City of Prescott’s Tourism Advisory Committee.

The longtime Prescott business owner and resident is honored to join the committee, which she believes shares her long-standing commitment to Downtown Prescott and to thoughtful, community-focused tourism.

“As a business owner in this beautiful city for ten years, I have admired TAC’s thoughtfulness in convening stakeholders to advise on tourism,” Dufort said. “The committee’s mission is dear to my heart, and I am honored to help ensure tourism in our city is done well while respecting the community and the history of downtown Prescott.”

Dufort said she was excited to serve as a guide on a mission to keep Prescott “everybody’s hometown.”

The Tourism Advisory Board was established by the City of Prescott to guide the future of local tourism. The 11-member committee includes representatives from the hospitality and tourism industry, local business owners, and the general public. The committee is responsible for preparing and recommending a five-year tourism strategic plan, advising on Prescott’s transient occupancy tax, supporting tourism staff with local matters, and administering annual tourism grants.

Dufort first came to Prescott in 1987 and visited frequently before making the city her permanent home in 2011. She has operated Puzzle Rides in Prescott for a decade, and her connection to the community is why she wanted to serve on TAC.

“TAC’s mission is such a worthwhile endeavor and so important to the community I call home,” Dufort said. “How we spend our tourism dollars is so important, and I want to make sure they are spent effectively.”
