Chinese automakers are gaining ground in markets from Europe to Southeast Asia and Latin America. Meanwhile, the Big Three are leaning harder into the large trucks and SUVs that remain highly profitable at home, while reducing their exposure in some overseas markets. The next decade will test how well that home-market strategy holds up.
