Registration is now open for the Arizona Wildlife Federation’s (AWF) Becoming an Outdoors-Woman (BOW) Workshop, which will be held on August 28-30 in Prescott, Arizona. BOW is held at Friendly Pines Camp, which is nestled high in the Bradshaw Mountain Range at an elevation of 6,300 feet. Participants stay in rustic cabins and enjoy the many amenities of this lovely camp, which was established in 1943.
Since its first workshop in 1995, BOW has introduced nearly 6,000 women to the wonders of Arizona’s magnificent landscapes and recreational opportunities. At a BOW workshop weekend, women engage in outdoor skills and activities in a safe and supportive environment where they feel comfortable learning, making life-long friends, and having fun in the outdoors.

August’s BOW offers a wide range of classes to choose from including kayaking, rappelling, archery, backpacking, and land navigation. Additionally, this fall BOW will include numerous classes on hunting with classes such Introduction to Hunting, Firearm Safety and Shooting, Field Dressing your Harvest, Archery Hunting, Turkey Hunting in Arizona, and Game Meat Processing.
BOW workshops are led by a team of AWF’s dedicated and professional BOW coordinators, and over 30 volunteer instructors—including Arizona Game and Fish Department employees—and a myriad of other experts in their fields.
There’s plenty to enjoy at a BOW Weekend — from expanding your knowledge of outdoors skills to sharing stories around the campfire, to forging connections with new friends and with nature!
The cost for the workshop is $425. This fee covers all classes, use of equipment, rooming in cabins, all meals, and additional presentations and activities. Don’t wait — spots are filling up fast!
