The City of Prescott Recreation Department would like to invite the public to join them on Saturday, July 4th at Pioneer Park (1200 Commerce Dr) to celebrate America’s 250th Birthday celebration at the Prescott Freedom Festival. The event kicks off at 3:00pm, with gates opening at 2:00pm and fireworks shooting off at 9:00pm.
There will be a variety of family-friendly activities, including live music, inflatables, games, and other amusements. There will also be food vendors with a variety of options, as well as a beer garden for adults aged 21 and over.
Admission, activities and parking are free.
Picnic style foods are allowed to include factory sealed water bottles, sodas (cans or factory sealed bottles), sandwiches, etc. Outside alcohol is not permitted.
All items- coolers, bags, wagons, etc are subject to search.
EZ-up shade structures (weighted/secured), umbrellas, blankets, chairs are allowed.
Seating is first-come, first serve. There is no VIP or pre-purchase seating area.
The following items are not allowed:
- Outside Alcohol
- BBQ grills (propane or charcoal)
- Open containers
- Animals (only service animals are allowed and must remain on a leash at all times)
- Smoking or vaping inside or within 50 feet from the park entrance
- Firearms or weapons of any kind
- Sparklers or other firework features
- Overnight camping
Parking and Shuttle service
Limited parking is available on site at Pioneer Park and at the following locations (within walking distance to Pioneer Park:

- Yavapai County Development Services- 1120 Commerce Dr
- Prescott MVD office- 1105 Commerce Dr
Off-site parking and shuttle service will be available at The Potter’s House Church, located at 5195 AZ-89. Parking lot for shuttle service opens at 2:00pm. Vehicle access to the parking lot will be off Larry Caldwell Dr at Assurance Way only (no entry off of Hwy 89).
Shuttle service will begin at 2:30pm, with the last shuttles to the event leaving the Potter’s House Church at 8:30pm.
Buses will continue service back to the Potter’s House Church after the fireworks show.
Please note that space is limited on the shuttles and may not be able to accommodate bulky items such as large coolers and EZ-up tents.
Traffic flow and closures for the event
All vehicle entry to the event will be north on Commerce Dr. from Willow Creek Rd.
Round-about access on Pioneer Parkway to Commerce Dr will be for authorized City and County vehicles, Law Enforcement vehicles and shuttle buses only and will be manned by Law Enforcement.
Pioneer Parkway will remain open for both Westbound and Eastbound traffic, but no access onto Commerce Dr.
Commerce Dr. at Tower Road will close at 8:00pm to all vehicle traffic. It is highly recommended that if you are planning to drop people off for the fireworks that you do so at the shuttle pick up point
