Chabad of Prescott is proud to announce an inspiring new 4 weekly lesson course centered on the timeless Jewish value of Tikkun Olam—the responsibility to repair and elevate the world. Rooted in the wisdom of the Torah, this course explores how its teachings offer meaningful direction not only for the Jewish people, but for all humanity.
In a time of global uncertainty and rapid change, this course invites participants to discover how ancient Torah principles speak directly to modern challenges. Through engaging discussions and practical insights, attendees will learn how acts of kindness, justice, and moral responsibility can transform both individual lives and the broader world.
The course will examine universal ethical teachings found in the Torah, highlighting their relevance across cultures and communities. Participants will explore themes such as compassion, accountability, purpose, and the shared responsibility to build a more just and harmonious society.
“Our goal is to show that the Torah’s guidance extends far beyond any one community,” said Rabbi Elie Filler the Lecturer of this course. “Tikkun Olam is a call to action for every person—to recognize their ability to make a difference and to take steps, big or small, toward healing the world.”
What the Course Covers
Over four sessions, participants will explore seven foundational values that Judaism has carried since before Mount Sinai—values intended not only for Jews but for all humanity. The course traces these ideas from Abraham’s original teaching through their implications for everyday life: What makes right “right” and wrong “wrong”? What is the purpose of educating children? Do our individual moral choices add up to something larger?
Open to people of all backgrounds, the course offers a welcoming space for learning, reflection, and meaningful conversation. No prior knowledge is necessary.
Classes will be held at Chabad of Prescott, with options for in-person and virtual participation.
This 4 lesson course begins Wednesday April 29th with 2 time options 11:00am to 12:30noon or 6:00pm to 7:30pm and will be weekly.
Lessons are recorded on YouTube for missed lessons as well as review.
This course is CLE accredited for lawyers.
