YRMC Expands Cardiac Care Services with John and Pamela Osterman Electrophysiology Lab

Dignity Health Yavapai Regional Medical Center (YRMC) has expanded its cardiovascular services with the opening of a cutting-edge electrophysiology (EP) lab to diagnose and treat complex heart rhythm conditions.  The addition of this revolutionary medical lab underscores YRMC’s unwavering commitment to providing the highest quality care to Yavapai County.

“This is an exciting period of growth for our cardiovascular services here at YRMC, with the addition of the new John and Pamela Osterman Electrophysiology Lab at YRMC. This will expand access to services and reduce wait times for both EP and other procedures and demonstrates our commitment to providing excellent cardiovascular care for the members of our community, ” says Dana Blome, Director of Cardiovascular Services at YRMC.

The John and Pamela Osterman Electrophysiology Lab, which is now open, is housed on the first floor of  YRMC’s West Campus in Prescott. It will provide a dedicated space for EP services, while also providing the flexibility to serve as an additional catheterization lab when needed, further  optimizing resource utilization. Another project will soon follow to replace all EP equipment and video monitoring systems in the hybrid operating room. This will provide YRMC with two labs with state of the art equipment for EP services as well as cross-functionality for other cardiovascular and surgical procedures.

Patients in the new EP lab space will be treated by Dignity Health Medical Group physicians Nisha Tung, MD, and Ronald Jones, MD.

Electrophysiology is a highly specialized and vital service within the cardiology field focused on diagnosing and treating patients with various types of heart arrhythmias, abnormal heart rhythms that can range from debilitating to life threatening.

Equipped with the latest diagnostic and interventional technology, the new lab will enable YRMC to perform a variety of arrhythmia procedures, including catheter ablations, and pacemaker and defibrillator  implantations.

“This expansion to our cardiac program signifies YRMC’s dedication to expand specialized services, ensuring that Yavapai County residents have easy access to the diagnosis and treatment for complex heart rhythm disorders,” says Dr. Anthony Torres, YRMC’s President and CEO.
