There’s a unique stir in the air when spring finally arrives in the high country. It’s not just the warming temperatures or the lengthening days; it’s a palpable sense of renewal, a collective sigh of relief as nature stretches awake after its winter slumber. For us here at Watters Garden Center, this feeling culminates in a very special annual tradition: our 64th Spring Flower Festival & Fountain Show!
This year, from March 13 to 15th, we’re throwing open our gates to celebrate everything that makes spring magical. Think vibrant new plant arrivals, the fragrant promise of blossoms, and the joyous return of outdoor living. But this isn’t just about new plants; it’s an experience. We’re inviting you to immerse yourself in the sights and sounds of spring, especially the captivating allure of garden fountains.

The Heartbeat of the Garden: Fountains Return
As you wander through sprawling grounds during the festival, you’ll notice something truly special this year: a dazzling array of fountains, each one a testament to the power of water to transform a space. From subtle trickles to grand cascades, these water features aren’t just decorative; they are the very heartbeat of a serene garden.
Why are fountains so crucial to the garden, especially as we kick off a new season? It’s simple. The sound of moving water is universally calming. It masks unwanted neighborhood noise, creates a focal point, and invites wildlife like birds and butterflies—yes, even hummingbirds love a good splash! A fountain transforms a flat, static landscape into a dynamic, living work of art.
Finding Your Perfect Water Feature
There’s a fountain for every garden, every budget, and every dream. During our Spring Festival, you’ll see everything from majestic, multi-tiered classical fountains perfect for a formal courtyard to sleek, modern designs that complement a contemporary patio. We’ll have charming, rustic styles that blend seamlessly into a naturalized landscape, and even small, self-contained tabletop fountains for those who want to bring tranquility indoors or to a compact balcony.
This is your chance to touch, listen, and truly visualize how a fountain can enhance your personal oasis.
Expert staff will be on hand, ready to guide you through the options. We can help you consider:
- Size and Scale: How big or small should your fountain be relative to your space?
- Material: Do you prefer the timeless elegance of concrete, the rugged charm of natural stone, or the modern appeal of fiberglass?
- Sound Profile: Do you desire a gentle gurgle for meditation, or a more pronounced cascade to mask street noise?
- Maintenance: How easy is it to keep clean, and what winterization steps are recommended for our climate?
Beyond the Fountain: A Festival of Greenery
While the Fountain Show is a highlight, it’s just one facet of our 64th Spring Festival. Imagine strolling through rows of vibrant annuals, their colors practically vibrating with life. Envision the sturdy allure of freshly stocked perennials, ready to put down roots and return year after year. Picture yourself exploring our vast selection of trees and shrubs, each offering shade, beauty, and structure for your landscape.
The team has been working tirelessly to bring you the healthiest, most diverse selection of plants specifically chosen to thrive in our unique mountain climate. We’re talking about everything from drought-tolerant beauties that sip water to pollinator magnets that will turn your garden into a buzzing, fluttering haven.
More Than Just Plants: Community & Connection
The Spring Festival is also about community. It’s a chance to connect with fellow garden enthusiasts, share stories, and inspire each other. We’ll have special classes, workshops, and demonstrations running throughout the weekend, offering practical tips and creative ideas to kickstart your spring planting. Whether you’re a seasoned gardener looking for something new or just starting your green journey, there’s something here for everyone.
Bring your questions, bring your sketchbooks, and bring your excitement! This is the perfect opportunity to plan your spring and summer garden, find those ideal accent pieces, and immerse yourself in the sheer joy of the season.
So mark your calendars for March 13 to 15th! Join us at Watters Garden Center for our 64th Spring Festival & Fountain Show. Let’s welcome spring together, find your perfect fountain, and turn your garden dreams into a vibrant reality. We can’t wait to share the beauty of the season!
